Job Description
The Principal at ORI Capital will play a pivotal role in leading the identification, analysis, and execution of investment opportunities. This senior position requires a strategic visionary with a robust background in finance and an expert understanding of the biotech sector to drive the growth and success of our portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, encompassing scientific evaluation, market analysis, competitive positioning, and advanced financial modelling.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed investment documentation and presentations for the investment committee and external stakeholders.
- Provide high-level strategic and operational guidance to management teams of portfolio companies.
- Manage the full investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, execution, portfolio management, and developing exit strategies.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships within the biotech industry to source new investment opportunities and gain insights into emerging trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, with an advanced degree or certification such as an MBA, CFA, or PhD in a scientific discipline strongly preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, or a related field, with a significant portion of that experience in the biotech or life sciences sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modelling, due diligence, and investment analysis.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence key stakeholders at the highest levels.
- Strong track record of leading teams, managing investments, and driving project initiatives with a high degree of independence and initiative.
