HKEx Streamlines Rules Governing the Listing of Debt Securities Offered to Professional Investors
HKEx has recently issued its Consultation Conclusions on the Proposed Changes to Requirements for the Listing of Debt Issues for Professionals Investors Only, which amends the rules for listing debt securities offered to professional investors, and marks a significant step by the HKEx to enhance its attractiveness as a listing platform for debt securities.

VIE Structures in China: What you need to know?
For more than a decade, the captive or “Sina-modal” structure has been adopted by foreign-invested PRC companies operating in industries subject to restrictions on foreign investment. The structure has become commonplace and is used by many of China’s most well known offshore-listed companies.

The 8th Wine tasting broke records with 70 attendees and a long waiting list. The star was Simon Tam who led the wine tasting for the past 7 years building a large and loyal following amongst our members. Simon gave a "Tour of Bordeaux" of special wines. As always the talk was entertaining and instructive, providing greater knowledge of wines to the audience. Simon Tam recently joined Christies as Head of Wines. Thanks to the organizing committee and especially Marcus Thompson for a very successful event.

3 members of HKVCA Executive Committee, Johnny Chan, President, Vincent Chan, President and Conrad Tsang, Vice Chairman attended Asian VC and PE Council Meeting on Nov 3 in Suzhou, China. The MOU was co-signed by Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, Taiwan and Mainland China’s associations. The formation of Asian VC and PE Council was announced on Nov 4 at CAPE’s Annual Conference. The formal inauguration in Hong Kong on Jan 19, 2012 after Asia Private Equity forum on Jan 18, 2012.

Private Equity Fundamentals Course
