The HKVCA PE Fundamentals Breaks New Ground in 2014

The HKVCA’s Private Equity Fundamentals Course, our comprehensive training course designed for those wishing to enhance their knowledge of the core fundamentals of private equity and venture capital, was held this year over a period of four days on September 17-18 and October 8 and 10.

This year for the first time we were especially pleased to have the support of, as co-host, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, The University of Hong Kong  and their MBA program, as well as the MBA program at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Working together with our new partners proved to be a tremendous success as we were able to attract a record number of course attendees: 139 registrants with between 47 and 75 attendees attending each of the course modules. The support also provided the Association with a unique and valuable opportunity to raise the profile of our industry, both among established financial professionals as well as students looking forward to the start of their own careers.

The HKVCA is extremely grateful to each of our course speakers, namely, Marvin Lai of iTM Ventures; Christiaan Kaptein of Arbor Ventures; Scott Peterman of Sidley Austin; K O Chia of Grace Financial; Alice Chow of FLAG Squadron Asia; Lorna Chen and William Chou of Shearman & Sterling; Jesse Sheley and Frank Sun of Kirkland & Ellis; Vincent Warner of Chepstow Capital; Robert Kwok of Ernst & Young; William Ho of CVC Asia; Victor Lee of PwC Hong Kong; Edwarde Webre and Robert Woll of Deacons; Simon Cooke and Neeraj Budhwani of Clifford Chance; John Levack of Electra Partners Asia; Anna Cheung of FountainVest Partners (Asia); Michael Chan of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing; Josh Jacob of Hamilton Lane; and Kallan Resnick of Park Hill Group.
