The Asian Venture Capital Private Equity Council (AVCPEC) was founded jointly by nine regional private equity associations. It aims to be a platform to facilitate the region’s information sharing and to support and encourage education, training and development. AVCPEC seeks to promote professional standards and a suitable regulatory framework for investment across the Asia Pacific.

- To promote the development and awareness among investors of the venture capital and private equity industry in Asia Pacific.
- To raise awareness among US and European investors of venture capital and private equity investment activities in the region.
- To facilitate the exchange of ideas, information and experience among members of the various venture capital associations as well as networking between practitioners in the Asia Pacific region.
- To promote best practices and standards for corporate governance at an international level.
- To support and encourage the development of professional skills among practitioners within the region.
- To adopt a standard set of valuation and reporting guidelines.
- To act as a forum to discuss topics and issues concerning the region’s venture capital and private equity industry.
